The Sindh government runs several programs to support students, low-income families, women, workers and other vulnerable groups. These schemes include scholarships, financial assistance, food support, housing facilities and social protection programs.

Scholarships for Sindh Students
Students from low-income families can look into the Sindh Educational Endowment Fund (SEEF) Scholarship. The program provides financial assistance to deserving and academically capable students from Sindh who are studying in recognized institutions.
The scholarship is intended to help students continue higher education in fields such as information technology, engineering, medicine and business administration. Generally, applicants need a Sindh domicile, admission in a recognized institution, suitable academic results and proof of financial need.
Sindh also has scholarship and education assistance programs through the Workers Welfare Board Sindh for eligible industrial workers and their children. These include scholarships for students studying at school, college, university and professional institutions.
Financial Assistance for Families
The Sindh Social Protection Authority (SSPA) manages and coordinates several social protection initiatives in the province.
One important program is the Mother and Child Support Programme (Mamta). It provides conditional cash assistance to eligible pregnant women and mothers of young children. The program combines financial support with maternal and child healthcare services. It currently operates in 15 districts of Sindh, particularly areas with high poverty levels.
Eligible women generally need a valid CNIC and must live in one of the program’s designated districts. Registration is carried out through designated PPHI Sindh health facilities.
Ration and Food Support
Food assistance is another part of Sindh’s social protection efforts. The provincial government has been working on initiatives aimed at improving food security and supporting vulnerable households.
The SSPA has identified direct food support as one of the areas covered by Sindh’s social protection system. The proposed Bhook Mitao Programme is focused on addressing food insecurity among vulnerable communities, although people should check official announcements before assuming that registration is currently open.
The Sindh Food Department also works on maintaining wheat supplies and ensuring the availability of flour at affordable prices.
Housing Support in Sindh
Housing assistance is available through different government initiatives for specific groups.
The Workers Welfare Board Sindh has a housing scheme that provides affordable houses, flats or plots for eligible industrial workers. The board also operates welfare programs covering education, marriage grants and death grants for registered workers and their families.
There is also a housing foundation for Sindh civil servants and retired civil servants, which aims to provide houses at affordable prices. Eligibility for this facility is linked to government employment and the foundation’s membership requirements.
