LAHORE — Lahore Police has removed 206 officers and officials from their positions in an internal crackdown on corruption and misconduct.

Why were the personnel removed?

The action followed a review of complaints and disciplinary cases involving police personnel. Officials found responsible for corruption-related violations were removed from their assignments.

Punjab accountability measures

The move follows Punjab’s policy of taking stricter action against corrupt government employees. Senior police officials have been instructed to identify personnel facing credible allegations and act when evidence supports disciplinary proceedings.

Police monitoring has also been strengthened through body cameras and closer supervision of field personnel.

What happens next?

The removals show wider internal accountability measures within Lahore Police. However, disciplinary action does not mean every removed officer has been convicted of a criminal offence. Further proceedings will determine the outcome of individual cases.
