SIM Biometric Verification in Pakistan (2026 Guide)

Biometric verification is mandatory in Pakistan. If your SIM isn’t verified against your CNIC, it will be blocked. No excuses.

What Is SIM Biometric Verification?

It links your SIM card to your CNIC and fingerprints in NADRA’s system. This prevents fraud and illegal SIM use.

Who Needs It?

  • New SIM buyers

  • People with old SIMs not verified

  • Anyone whose SIM gets temporarily blocked

  • People holding more than the allowed SIMs

Limit: Maximum 5 SIMs per CNIC (across all networks).

How to Check SIMs on Your CNIC (Do This First)

CNIC-wise Check

Dial:

*668#

Enter your CNIC number (without dashes).
You’ll receive a list of all SIMs registered on your CNIC.

Number-wise Check

Dial:

*667#

Shows the CNIC linked to the current SIM.

If you see unknown numbers → problem. Fix it immediately.

How to Verify Your SIM (Only One Real Method)

Visit a Franchise or Customer Service Center

You cannot complete biometric verification online.

Bring:

  • Original CNIC (mandatory)

  • Physical SIM card

  • Your phone (recommended)

  1. Tell them “SIM biometric verification”

  2. Fingerprint scan

  3. CNIC validation

  4. Confirmation SMS

⏱️ Time: 5–10 minutes
💰 Cost: Usually free

Major Networks in Pakistan

  • Jazz

  • Zong

  • Telenor

  • Ufone

Rule is the same for all. No shortcuts.

Common Reasons SIMs Get Blocked

  • CNIC expired

  • Exceeded 5-SIM limit

  • Fingerprint mismatch

  • SIM registered on someone else’s CNIC

If blocked, only the franchise can fix it.

Important Warnings (Read Carefully)

  • Don’t use SIMs registered on others’ CNICs

  • Don’t sell or give away SIMs without transfer

  • Unverified SIMs can be blocked without notice

This is a legal requirement, not a telecom preference.

Bottom Line

If your SIM isn’t biometrically verified, it’s dead weight.
Check → Visit franchise → Verify → Done.
