The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has launched another enforcement operation against illegal housing schemes and unauthorized construction in areas under its jurisdiction.
Following directions from Commissioner Rawalpindi Division and RDA Director General Salman Ghani, the authority’s Enforcement Squad carried out operations at three locations in Morgah, Rawalpindi.
The targeted sites included Downtown Morgah on Defence Road opposite Askari-14, a land subdivision near Dhok Nawaz Graveyard, and an illegal housing scheme near Riaz Chowk.
During the operation, RDA teams demolished illegally constructed roads, infrastructure, manholes, sewerage pipelines and barriers at the sites. The authority said the action was taken under the Punjab Development of Cities Act, 1976, RDA Building and Zoning Regulations and other applicable laws.
The RDA said its field teams will continue monitoring areas under its control and take action against unauthorized development, illegal construction and unlawful commercial activities.
The latest operation comes as the authority has intensified enforcement against unapproved housing schemes and development projects in Rawalpindi.
